Tell Congress to
Protect Your Banking Privacy
There is a proposal currently in Congress that could impact your financial privacy. The proposal under consideration would require Wildfire and all other financial institutions to report to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) how much money has gone into and out of any of your accounts. Currently it is still being debated on what that dollar threshold will be. Regardless of the amount, any reporting could jeopardize your financial privacy.
This proposal would violate your personal privacy by forcing credit unions and banks to provide the government with information that does not reflect taxable activity.
All of us at Wildfire Credit Union take your financial privacy and well-being seriously. We hope you will join us in letting Congress know that you do not support this legislation. You can let Congress know that you do not support this proposal by following the link to the right.
