Position: Backend Engineer

Job Description

This position is responsible for writing new application programs and updating existing ones. Works closely with Programmers, Systems Development Engineers and Project Mangers to understand directions and design specifications.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of software application development and the different phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Expert in Java, Spring, Maven, IntelliJ, Microservices, MySQL, Database design, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, and Windows.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, EKS, Jira, Agile development / Scrum, HTTP APIs, API-first approach, Powershell. Familiar with .NET

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of related programming experience.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills/Abilities

  • Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to challenge the user story/requirements to provide accurate and reliable estimations of requirements.
  • Documentation: Actively improves documentation and knows how to write something that is easy to use.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Comprehends the full scope of a project and make the best suggestions and methods to develop.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Awareness of Business Driven Development, Test Driven Development.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong project management abilities.
  • Willingness to assist others and support others.
  • Able to operate all related computer applications and hardware.
  • Strong Problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates creative dynamic thinking.
