This position operates and monitors computer equipment; performs routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and their peripherals; observes peripheral equipment and error messages to detect faulty output or machine stoppage; provides support to end users on a variety of issues; identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems; responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support; documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution; and assists in the installation, maintenance, and general support of systems.  In addition, this position may help perform system backups and recovery, install new software, and configure workstations.  This position requires a strong technical knowledge of computer commands and related equipment operations.  A good understanding of Credit Union records and output requirements along with solid problem solving skills are critical to the successful execution of this position.

• Knowledge of computer hardware and software.

• At least one year of experience as a Computer Operator or similar position.
• Symitar and/or AIX experience preferred.

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Computer training is preferred.
